Pre- and Post-Care Instructions for EZ Gel

Women who are pregnant or nursing should not undergo EZ Gel treatment.

Women who are actively trying to conceive should consult their physician before receiving EZ Gel.

Allow a minimum of 2 weeks between any vaccinations and your EZ Gel treatment.

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) 24 to 48 hours prior to treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

If you have had dental work (including a cleaning) within the past 2 weeks, or plan to have it within 2 weeks after your treatment, it’s best to defer EZ Gel until 2 weeks after your dental procedure.

If you are taking prescription antibiotics or steroids, wait 2 weeks after completing your course before treatment.

If you are feeling unwell or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, it’s best to wait until fully recovered before your appointment.

You may choose to take Arnica and/or Bromelain for 2 weeks prior to treatment to help minimize bruising and support healing.

If you are prone to Herpes Labialis (cold sores) and are receiving treatment in an area that could trigger an outbreak, we recommend pre-treating with an antiviral medication for 2 days before and 2 days after your EZ Gel treatment. Dream Spa Medical can provide a prescription if you are a candidate.

Hydration is key. Drinking plenty of water before your appointment helps your body function at its best, supports healing, and can enhance your results.

Consider having a small snack or meal within an hour of your appointment. Needle treatments can sometimes make patients feel lightheaded or queasy, and having something in your stomach helps prevent that. We also provide juice and snack bars during your visit if needed.
After your EZ Gel treatment, the treated area may feel sensitive, swollen, or tender, which can last up to 2 weeks. If you experience excessive pain, throbbing, or unusual swelling, contact Dream Spa Medical immediately so our team can assess your needs.
Because EZ Gel contains lidocaine, you may notice numbness or tingling immediately after the procedure. This typically resolves within an hour.
If multiple areas are treated or a larger correction is performed, soreness, swelling, and tenderness may be more pronounced. Your provider will discuss what is considered normal and will follow up with you within 48 hours to check on your recovery.
For discomfort, we recommend Tylenol for up to 2 weeks post-treatment. Avoid ibuprofen or other blood-thinning medications, as they may increase bruising.
To support healing:

Avoid heavy lifting, strenuous activity, sweating, or heat (steam/sauna) for 48 hours.

Bruising and small injection marks are normal and should resolve within 2 weeks. Do not pick at the treated area.

Treat the area gently when washing your face or applying products, and avoid touching or manipulating it for at least 48 hours.

Wait 2 weeks before scheduling additional treatments, such as facials, peels, or lasers.
Results develop gradually as EZ Gel integrates into your tissue, typically taking 2 to 6 weeks to see the full effect. Following these guidelines ensures the best natural-looking results.
- Please do not manipulate or massage any area of treatment, unless instructed to do so by your provider. Some areas require massaging, such as the neck. You will be given clear instructions tailored to your treatment before you leave. Your provider will set up a 2 week post-procedure appointment to address any concerns or physical developments, such as bumps in the treated area. Please call Dream Spa Medical if you are unsure about any of these instructions or have any questions.
- Ice or clean, cool compresses may be used in any area of treatment immediately after, up to 48 hours post-procedure. This will help any swelling and discomfort.
- Do not apply makeup over injection points until the day after the procedure. If you need to apply something for hydration to your lips, then please use Aquaphor/Vaseline with a clean cotton tip.
- Try to sleep on your back, with your head elevated, for 1 to 2 nights.
- You may opt to take Arnica tablets or apply Arnica gel for up to 2 weeks post-treatment to assist with healing and bruising. Taking an over-the-counter antihistamine (Zyrtec, Claritin) daily may help minimize swelling.
- We advise that you should not fly on an airplane or any type of aircraft for at least 1 week post-treatment. The changes in air pressure and altitude can exacerbate or produce swelling.
EZ Gel is a natural, regenerative treatment designed to enhance your skin and restore volume safely. While complications are extremely rare, it is important to know what to watch for after your treatment.
For 2 weeks following your EZ Gel treatment, contact Dream Spa Medical immediately if you experience any of the following:

Blanching of the skin in or around the treated area (white, frosty, or opaque patches).

Pain beyond what was discussed with your provider. Intermittent discomfort is normal, but constant throbbing or sharp pain should be addressed immediately.

A cold or numb area on your face or constant tingling in the treated area.

A rash with pustules or unusual skin discoloration in the treated area.

Fever or chills.

Discolored blotches appearing in areas that were not treated.
